Markdown-native context manager
Your context, in
Markdown you control.
U.md holds what’s true about you — your decisions, your methods, your sources — as plain Markdown you can always open and read. Then it governs what AI is allowed to know, remember, and do with it.
Private by default · sourced recall · an audit trail for everything.
# Decisions
- Passed on Acme (Apr) — valuation too rich for the thesis.[source: email · fact]
- Lead Wonderlic with the retention angle.[decision]
# How I work
- Buyer lists: strategics first, then PE platforms.
- Always cite the source before acting
The three rules
A different bet than “AI that remembers your preferences.”
The graph is the asset
Context lives as typed, sourced nodes — decisions and the reasoning behind them, not just flat preferences. It compounds the longer you use it, and it can't be exported out from under you.
Permission is the spine
Every access and action routes through one decision — who you are, what you may do, what you may touch — resolving to allow, deny, or propose. Nothing bypasses it. Everything is logged.
Propose, never commit
The system stages actions with the reason shown; you approve. It can act in the world — re-date a CRM, draft a deliverable — but only after a human taps yes.
What U.md does
Capture as exhaust. Recall with sources. Share under permission.
Capture as exhaust
Your context fills from the work you already do — email, calendar, files, past chats — instead of waiting on you to write it down.
Sourced, confidence-labeled recall
Ask “what did I decide about X, and why?” and get a reasoned answer with its sources and a confidence label — never an unsourced guess.
The Context Router
Before any prompt, assemble the smallest-sufficient bundle of the right examples, methods, and decisions to hand a model — you choose what's included.
Governed sharing + audit
Hand an external agent exactly the context you approved — nothing more — and keep an append-only trail of every read, every action, and why.
One engine, named as files
Start with me.md. Branch when you’re ready.
The personal context layer is the trunk. Industry surfaces plug in additively — same engine, same governance, no rebuild.
Your personal context — decisions, methods, sources. The trunk every branch grows from.
Your daily brief — the morning intelligence surface, governed by the same spine.
For dealmakers — sourcing, buyer universes, and CRM write-back under approval.
Hold your context where you can still read it.
Early access is opening to a small first cohort.
